The key to a stress free move is preparation and planning. Listed below are some examples of things to do and remember before your move.

 
3 WEEKS BEFORE
Contact doctor/dentist/optician/schools
Inform utilities services
Obtain veterinary advice (for moving pets)
Organize finances/credit cards
Inform local council/bank/clubs
Redirect mail
Inform landlord/tenant
 
1 WEEK BEFORE
Empty garage, loft, rundown freezer contents
Organize removal of satellite dish
Change of address cards
Organize child and pet sitters
Cancel magazines, newspaper and milk
Return borrowed items
Advise neighbours of move day
check travel arrangements
Update with solicitor
Collect any orders/dry cleaning
 
THE DAY BEFORE
Pack valuables/jewellery
Empty fridge and freezer
Prepare electrical appliances i.e. washer
Make final arrangements via utility services
Confirm key arrangements
Advise removal company of any last minute changes
Organize meals and drinks for tomorrow
Complete packing, check all cupboards
